I have ADHD and can't concentrate to read for college. Do I have any other choice but to drop out?
This is a more recent diagnosis, but all my family keeps telling me is to keep trying. They don't understand that it's not a matter of motivation. So far I have not found a medication that works for me and I'm behind in my homework and often feel illiterate because though I can write and speak well in cl, I can't concentrate enough to read on my own! It's so frustrating, but all my family does is try to encourage me on. They don't understand that I *want* to do well, but just CAN'T. I don't want to have to drop out, but so far don't know what other choice I have. I've talked to the disability rep in the school I go to, but so far all she has really given me is little pointers on study techniques. Much like my family, I think she means well, but It's just not that simple. Please help!
