Fifteenth and sixteenth century voyages of exploration were stimulated mainly by ?
The main goal of the voyages of exploration was the quest for trade routes to the East in search of spices and other riches. The quest for gold and the desire to convert native peoples to Christianity soon became an important factor. New technology in navigation and the individual explorer's hopes of enrichment were also important factors. Portugal and Spain were the first nations to explore other lands but Britain, France and Holland followed. These countries were all in competition with each other. So the other nations were stimulated to explore by Britain as she was stimulated to explore by the others. I hope that this has been a help to you.
