With the recent acquisitions of Sol Campbell, Dan Gosling & James Perch...?

Your last approach of loading the attack with players like Martins, Owen and Viduka didn't work...so perhaps yes, it would be more sensible to focus on the team's solidity this season, rather than its attacking flair. I don't think those signings indicate anything really though. I don't imagine any of them being stonewall starters. And if they are, Newcastle are going to struggle.
