Color scheme for my bedroom?

I need help with changing my bedroom I have had it the same decor for 5 or 6 years now and its getting boring. My room has blue walls and a blue carpet. For the longest time I had this horrible quilted comforter, but I finally got rid of that and now I have this rather cute black and white comforter set and I have white curtains with this black shawl-like thing that is dd over the curtains, I would like to keep that and the comforter but I hate everything else I just got this older bed stand that is wooden and I wanted to paint it but don't know what color to paint it, I was thinking about white or black to keep to the white and black theme but I also was thinking about a plumb or bluish color or black with white stripes or polka dot. idk I need help. thank you
