I want to know what this means?

A few years ago, i was lying in bed, and suddenly felt a presence in my bedroom. I asked inwardly, if there is something there show me. A second later i started to see silhouettes of souls swirling around the ceiling, I then looked over at a oil radiator i had and at the center of it i saw a spark of sorts, then a rod of magnificent white light about a foot high and two inches wide shot up above the spark, but it was disconnected from the spark. Then a few days later I went to the library, and happened to pick up a book on edgar cayce, when I came across a part in the book, all my hairs stood up, and there was a post it note mysteriously below the sentence. It said, that he had a dream about the same thing, and described it exactly the same. He presumed it's what people saw before they died. FYI, I was not under the influence of drugs. I had a friend who ped away, a few years earlier, and I felt his presence in the room. I guess I wonder if it was a message from God, or my friend. Thanks.
