Made an Ebay account and not sure whether to use Paypal or what. What should I do?

Okay, so I've made an Ebay account due to the fact I saw quite a few things I've liked on auction, of course. But I'm pretty wary of using Paypal, I've heard a lot of bad things about it so I don't know how to approach the situation. I was thinking of using money orders but I don't think the majority of the sellers would accept those. Any advice?
